I don’t know our government any more.
Despite pleas to stop the government takeover of industry and large sectors of the economy our elected officials ignore the will of the People and the Constitution, seeming to be pushing another agenda.
Regarding Article I, Section 8 in the Constitution, James Madison wrote, “If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one.”
The only thing transparent about the government is its duplicity. And when the government takes the People for fools, distrust of government grows like wildfire.
Many others don’t know our government anymore either. That is why large numbers of citizens of the United States are becoming increasingly skeptical of the federal government. And that is why the People are stockpiling weapons and ammunition at an unprecedented pace. They sense a battle for freedom is coming.
Whether that battle is peaceful or violent depends on the federal government. If it voluntarily returns power to the People in the form of less taxes and less regulations, it will be a peaceful transition.
If the federal government holds tightly to the reins of power that rightfully belong to the States and the People and continue to oppress the People with tighter controls and heavier taxes the resulting violence and discord will be on their heads.
As for me, I have decided to turn my back on the Democrats and Republicans, siding with John Quincy Adams who said, “Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.” I am voting for the Constitution Party candidates.
When the People have had enough of government interference in their lives, power will return to the People!
As detailed in my eBook, ©The Common Man, I grew up in the 1950s when trusting was easy. Sure there were problems but stability was the norm. Now things are spinning out of control. Republicans and Democrats in the federal government are fiscally irresponsible and unrestrained.
Make no mistake, government is not as benevolent as it seems. George Washington pointed out in earlier days, “Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”
Disobey it and you will find its fury.
And Thomas Jefferson so wisely stated, “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”
These men knew the halls of power.
Contrary to Jefferson and Madison’s writings, the Democrats in Congress believe the general welfare clause gives them unlimited power to provide healthcare, education, etc. The Supreme Court, a branch of the federal government, normally backs them up resulting in more taxes for more federal programs. They are wrong.
Contrary to the Constitution, Republicans encourage every President to find a military solution in foreign affairs without ever declaring war. As President Eisenhower said, “We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex.”
The federal government is on the verge on the verge of bankruptcy and is heavily dependent on China, a communist nation, to carry its debt. Many state governments are teetering on financial collapse.
Yet the wars, spending, debt and heavy taxation continue unabated.
The People, from the aged to the youth, are weary of their rights being diminished by each new act of government. Freedom and liberty are disappearing.
Now there is a wide distrust of government.
