Power Will Return To The People

There will be millions in the streets during the Summer of 2010, a period that is destined for the history books. Tea Parties and other patriotic Americans are fearful of the decadent path the nation is treading and, in particular, the pervasiveness of the federal government.

The citizenry, thanks in large part to the Tea Parties all across the nation, are rising up to take back their country.

There remains, however, one major question that needs to be answered: Will they vote third party?

Voting for the same old, tired policies is not going to change anything. Check out our Party Platform Comparison and you will see that no party has any plan to restore individual liberty and pay off the National Debt except one - the Constitution Party.

Don't let the Republican Party fool you about smaller government. There are many statements within their party platform that indicate that they, and of course the Democratic Party, are intent on maintaining a large federal government including continued dominance over education.

The only way there will be the type of political change that is needed, the type to implement TCM Power Principles as envisioned by the Founding Fathers, will be to vote for a third party. It was done right before the Civil War and ushered in Abraham Lincoln. It can happen again!

More than merely voting though, it will also take an active electorate. The citizenry must get involved in the party of their choice, run for office (there are hundreds of local elected positions in each county), support godly candidates – and then keep a close eye on them.

Distrust of Government

I don’t know our government any more.

Despite pleas to stop the government takeover of industry and large sectors of the economy our elected officials ignore the will of the People and the Constitution, seeming to be pushing another agenda.

Regarding Article I, Section 8 in the Constitution, James Madison wrote, “If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one.”

The only thing transparent about the government is its duplicity. And when the government takes the People for fools, distrust of government grows like wildfire.

Many others don’t know our government anymore either. That is why large numbers of citizens of the United States are becoming increasingly skeptical of the federal government. And that is why the People are stockpiling weapons and ammunition at an unprecedented pace. They sense a battle for freedom is coming.

Whether that battle is peaceful or violent depends on the federal government. If it voluntarily returns power to the People in the form of less taxes and less regulations, it will be a peaceful transition.

If the federal government holds tightly to the reins of power that rightfully belong to the States and the People and continue to oppress the People with tighter controls and heavier taxes the resulting violence and discord will be on their heads.

As for me, I have decided to turn my back on the Democrats and Republicans, siding with John Quincy Adams who said, “Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.” I am voting for the Constitution Party candidates.

When the People have had enough of government interference in their lives, power will return to the People!

A Revolution is Brewing

As detailed in my eBook, ©The Common Man, I grew up in the 1950s when trusting was easy. Sure there were problems but stability was the norm. Now things are spinning out of control. Republicans and Democrats in the federal government are fiscally irresponsible and unrestrained.

Make no mistake, government is not as benevolent as it seems. George Washington pointed out in earlier days, “Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”

Disobey it and you will find its fury.

And Thomas Jefferson so wisely stated, “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

These men knew the halls of power.

Contrary to Jefferson and Madison’s writings, the Democrats in Congress believe the general welfare clause gives them unlimited power to provide healthcare, education, etc. The Supreme Court, a branch of the federal government, normally backs them up resulting in more taxes for more federal programs. They are wrong.

Contrary to the Constitution, Republicans encourage every President to find a military solution in foreign affairs without ever declaring war. As President Eisenhower said, “We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex.”

The federal government is on the verge on the verge of bankruptcy and is heavily dependent on China, a communist nation, to carry its debt. Many state governments are teetering on financial collapse.

Yet the wars, spending, debt and heavy taxation continue unabated.

The People, from the aged to the youth, are weary of their rights being diminished by each new act of government. Freedom and liberty are disappearing.

Now there is a wide distrust of government.

A Sure Foundation

The United States was founded, for the most part, by devout Christians giving the nation a sure foundation as evidenced by their writings:

“Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion.” George Washington, President

“It is the duty, as well as privilege and interest, of a Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.” John Jay, Supreme Court Justice

“The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were...the general principles of Christianity.” John Adams, President

In 1690 the New-England Primer and The Shorter Catechism was introduced, the textbook used in American schools for 100 years with widespread use for more than 200 years. Besides its Bible facts, its Catechism teaches of God and man’s relationship and the salvation of Jesus Christ.

Yale was founded in 1701 “…wherein Youth may be instructed in the Arts and Sciences [and] through the blessing of Almighty God may be fitted for Publick employment both in Church and Civil State.”

In 1813 the Washington Public Schools reported its students reading and spelling successes using the Bible and a Christian hymnal in its curriculum.

Evidenced by the actions of early Americans including those of our Founding Fathers, history shows us that schools have every right to teach morals and the biblical concepts and indeed the Bible itself. How much clearer could this be?

For too long the godless and those who deny the power of God have exercised dominion in high places. They are turning our nation into a godless society. You cannot make laws that offend the sensibilities of the godly and expect good to come of it.

Today our religious heritage is being stripped, and, in short order, our religious freedom will rival that of any communist nation as its erosion is unchecked.

However, I sense a revolution is brewing.

Opening Prayer

Father, I thank you for the opportunity to glorify your name. In II Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) it is written, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

I know there are many who pray this with me. We do together humble ourselves, pray and seek your face and turn from our wicked ways. The rest is up to you.

Show yourself to those who genuinely look for you.

And may this website be a light and a source of strength and encouragement. May we look not only on own interests but remember those in need.

Above all, may the Spirit of Christ guide us for he is the fragrance and essence of love - and a sure foundation.
