Third Parties

There comes a time in the nation’s history when the status quo is no longer sufficient and of necessity a Third Party arises. When neither major party offers the vision and discipline to incorporate the values held most dear to the citizenry a Third Party will come into play.

Such a time is upon us. It is time for the discontented Democrats, Republicans and Independents to vote for their principles.

The last time this happened was when the Southern elements of the Whig Party joined with the pro-slavery Democrats (believe it or not it is well documented that for 100 years after the Civil War it was the Democratic Party, not the Republican Party, that suppressed people of color, despite their claims to the contrary). With the splitting of the Whig Party, the newly founded Republican Party came to life that freed the slaves.

Now we find ourselves at a crossroads with political chaos on the horizon. Do we really want to continue down the road of an oppressive federal government dominating virtually every aspect of our lives and yet incapable of balancing its own budget, let alone paying off the national debt and fostering job creation?

As indicated under the menu selection “Party Platforms” there is only one party, the Constitution Party, which includes paying off the national debt in its party platform, restoring gold and silver tender, etc. The Taxpayers Party of Michigan (USTPM.org) supports these positions.

Frankly, I am getting a little tired of people listing their complaints and then not having the nerve to campaign, support and vote for candidates from USTPM or its national affiliate, the Constitution Party.

Currently, only the Constitution Party has the platform of time-tested principles that will lead the nation to renewal. It’s time to put up. Either you want renewal and will vote that way or you are afraid or apathetic and therefore deserve what you get.

The Tea Parties are on the right track, but legislation has to take place to cut the purse strings of the federal government.

The Greatest Scam in History

One must ask why does President Obama spend all his time pushing his healthcare initiative? Certainly not because it will lower costs because it cannot. Even Senator Dick Durbin acknowledges that health care premiums will not go down. Plus, with 31 million more people instantly buying coverage, huge mismanagement and disruption of services is inevitable.

The squeeze on Medicare payments will be unabated. To maintain their level of income, doctors will forego accepting Medicare assignment meaning they no longer have to accept Medicare's approved payment amount and the patient will be responsible for the entire bill. Many physicians have already indicated they will not work for less money and will retire before that happens.

And everyone understands that when the first benefits are finally paid beginning in Year Five, costs will soon overtake the new taxes enacted to help pay for it.

After the debacles of TARP, Stimulus, Cash for Clunkers, etc. it has become unmistakable that the powers that be simply do not know what to do about the economy. But there are no tricks left in the bag.

The real reason Mr. Obama keeps pushing his plan is that he has no other. He is stymied and confused. The Greatest Scam in History is that it distracts us from seeing that those in the highest levels of government do not know how to “fix” the economy, but it gives the illusion, the appearance that they do, and that is the beauty of it. Without "The Scam" the people would see there is no plan. Without a plan the people would lose all faith and in a very powerful way respond at the polls.

Still, something must be done now, so an illusion will have to suffice.

They hope "The Greatest Scam in History" will take years to uncover and that the economy somehow corrects itself before then.

One major problem – it won’t. Every last drop of innovation has been squeezed out of the economy by the government’s manipulations and no cheap “highs’ are left.

The free markets have been crushed so severely that minor tweaks no longer work.

It will take a major overhaul to restore it to its original glory, a fix so dramatic is required that even Republicans, with their sense of free enterprise, don’t have the courage to make it happen.

Who will have the guts to pull it off?...Only a Third Party!

Keep A Close Eye On Them

With every passing day Americans are grasping with increasing clarity that the politicians in Washington are clueless as to the required actions necessary to restore this nation to greatness.

For starters, they fail to understand a very important elementary principal about governing, that is, the more the federal government reaches to take control over everything, the more things spin out of control.

They seem unable to comprehend that it takes men associating freely and with passion to bring about great things. All the power the government can muster is no match for the ingenuity of the American people.

When solutions are needed turn private industry loose and you will get results. Look at the selection available in American stores with literally thousands of items to choose from, full of countless types, shapes, colors, etc.

Perhaps it was the government that did all this, that ensures food, medicine and untold supplies are delivered daily? No, that would be free enterprise.

The common man needs no one to force him to act in his own best interest, which is certainly one of the best motivators of all.

Obviously, this is not a perfect world. Thus, government has its role. A role, however, that should strive to be an unobtrusive as possible, discreetly performing its functions. Instead we get bluster, pomp and ceremony.

The government carries out its duties with great fanfare and now introduces The Greatest Scam in History.

Power Will Return To The People

There will be millions in the streets during the Summer of 2010, a period that is destined for the history books. Tea Parties and other patriotic Americans are fearful of the decadent path the nation is treading and, in particular, the pervasiveness of the federal government.

The citizenry, thanks in large part to the Tea Parties all across the nation, are rising up to take back their country.

There remains, however, one major question that needs to be answered: Will they vote third party?

Voting for the same old, tired policies is not going to change anything. Check out our Party Platform Comparison and you will see that no party has any plan to restore individual liberty and pay off the National Debt except one - the Constitution Party.

Don't let the Republican Party fool you about smaller government. There are many statements within their party platform that indicate that they, and of course the Democratic Party, are intent on maintaining a large federal government including continued dominance over education.

The only way there will be the type of political change that is needed, the type to implement TCM Power Principles as envisioned by the Founding Fathers, will be to vote for a third party. It was done right before the Civil War and ushered in Abraham Lincoln. It can happen again!

More than merely voting though, it will also take an active electorate. The citizenry must get involved in the party of their choice, run for office (there are hundreds of local elected positions in each county), support godly candidates – and then keep a close eye on them.

Distrust of Government

I don’t know our government any more.

Despite pleas to stop the government takeover of industry and large sectors of the economy our elected officials ignore the will of the People and the Constitution, seeming to be pushing another agenda.

Regarding Article I, Section 8 in the Constitution, James Madison wrote, “If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one.”

The only thing transparent about the government is its duplicity. And when the government takes the People for fools, distrust of government grows like wildfire.

Many others don’t know our government anymore either. That is why large numbers of citizens of the United States are becoming increasingly skeptical of the federal government. And that is why the People are stockpiling weapons and ammunition at an unprecedented pace. They sense a battle for freedom is coming.

Whether that battle is peaceful or violent depends on the federal government. If it voluntarily returns power to the People in the form of less taxes and less regulations, it will be a peaceful transition.

If the federal government holds tightly to the reins of power that rightfully belong to the States and the People and continue to oppress the People with tighter controls and heavier taxes the resulting violence and discord will be on their heads.

As for me, I have decided to turn my back on the Democrats and Republicans, siding with John Quincy Adams who said, “Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.” I am voting for the Constitution Party candidates.

When the People have had enough of government interference in their lives, power will return to the People!
